Job Description
Seeking a professional to handle comprehensive translation and localization tasks across multiple domains. This role involves converting marketing content from English to simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese, while also providing English proofreading services. Responsibilities include translating and localizing various materials such as product descriptions, operational guidelines, marketing events, announcements, blog posts, press releases, educational resources, video scripts, UI/UX interface texts, landing pages, and help guides. The candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality translations promptly and efficiently, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines. Collaboration with cross-departmental stakeholders, including requestors and project managers, is essential for daily translation tasks. Additionally, conducting in-depth research on specific target audiences, industries, and technologies will be required to ensure the highest level of expertise and accuracy in translation and localization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute translation and localization projects for marketing content, including product documentation, operational procedures, and promotional materials, across English to simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, and English proofreading.
- Ensure translations meet quality standards by maintaining consistency, cultural relevance, and linguistic accuracy in all deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product management, and project management to understand requirements and deliver translations aligned with business goals.
- Conduct thorough research on target personas, industry-specific terminology, and technological concepts to enhance the depth and precision of localized content.
- Review and refine existing translations to ensure they are up-to-date, error-free, and suitable for the intended audience and platform.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve ambiguities, clarify context, and ensure translations reflect the brand's voice and messaging effectively.
- Provide timely and efficient support for translation tasks, balancing speed with accuracy to meet project deadlines consistently.
- Stay updated on language trends, cultural nuances, and localization best practices to maintain a competitive edge in the field.
Job Requirements
- Native-level proficiency in English with advanced fluency in Chinese (both simplified and traditional). Demonstrated ability to proofread English content with precision and cultural awareness.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in translation and localization, preferably in marketing or technical documentation. Familiarity with UI/UX localization and multimedia content translation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of localization processes, including cultural adaptation, terminology management, and format adjustments for different platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards across all deliverables.
- Proficiency in using translation tools and software, such as CAT tools, terminology databases, and project management platforms.
