Job Description
This position involves a range of translation and localization tasks across multiple domains. The primary responsibilities include translating marketing content from Chinese to English and English to Traditional Chinese, covering products, operations, marketing activities, announcements, blog articles, press releases, educational materials, video scripts, UI/UX strings, login pages, and help guides. The role also requires proofreading English content, ensuring accuracy and linguistic appropriateness. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality translations and localized materials in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute translation projects from Chinese to English and English to Traditional Chinese, focusing on marketing-related materials such as product descriptions, operational guidelines, and promotional content.
  • Perform meticulous proofreading of English content to ensure grammatical correctness, clarity, and alignment with brand tone.
  • Work closely with requesters, project managers (PMs), and stakeholders from various departments to understand requirements and deliver localized content that meets business objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth research on industry-specific terminology, technological concepts, and cultural nuances to enhance translation accuracy and contextual relevance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather content specifications, translate them into professional deliverables, and ensure consistency across all materials.
  • Adapt content for different platforms and formats, including digital assets, print materials, and multimedia, while maintaining linguistic quality and brand integrity.
  • Provide feedback on translation challenges and suggest improvements to streamline workflows and enhance output quality.
  • Stay updated on language trends, localization best practices, and industry developments to ensure translations remain current and competitive.
Job Requirements
  • Native or near-native proficiency in both Chinese and English, with strong command of grammar, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions.
  • Experience in translation and localization, preferably with a focus on marketing content or technical documentation, though candidates with diverse experience will be considered.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce error-free translations under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey translation requirements clearly.
  • Proficiency in using translation tools (e.g., CAT tools, terminology databases) and familiarity with localization workflows.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with flexibility to handle both part-time and full-time projects.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX localization principles and experience with translating digital content such as website copy, app interfaces, and video scripts.
  • Understanding of cultural differences and sensitivity to ensure localized content resonates with target audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to adapt writing style to suit different contexts, from formal reports to casual blog posts, while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address translation challenges and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) or localization platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-volume translation tasks without compromising quality.
