Job Description
As a Senior Developer Relations Advocate, you will serve as a bridge between Ironforge's technology and its developer community. Your primary focus will be on driving adoption of our products, reducing entry barriers, and fostering a supportive ecosystem for developers. This role requires proactive engagement with technical inquiries, community feedback, and strategic collaboration to enhance the overall developer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the developer community to enhance the adoption of Ironforge's technology, reduce the cost of entry, and provide technical support. This includes addressing user inquiries, gathering feedback, and implementing improvements based on community insights to ensure a seamless experience for developers.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including API guides, tutorials, and case studies, to improve resource offerings on Ironforge's website, GitHub, and other platforms. Utilize tools like Markdown, Sphinx, or Confluence to ensure clarity and accessibility for all users.
- Actively engage with the developer community by responding to technical questions in real-time, moderating discussions, and improving the quality of support across channels such as Discord, Slack, and StackOverflow. This role also involves creating content that educates and empowers developers to use Ironforge's technology effectively.
- Represent Ironforge at conferences, meetups, and industry events to build relationships with developers, foster collaboration, and promote the brand. Develop and deliver presentations that highlight the company's technology, success stories, and future roadmap to establish thought leadership in the developer community.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify pain points in the developer experience, propose solutions, and ensure that product updates align with community needs. This includes working closely with engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to create a unified approach to developer support.
- Monitor and analyze community engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts, identify trends, and report findings to leadership. Use this data to inform strategies for improving adoption rates and user satisfaction.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience (5+ years) in developer relations, technical communication, or similar roles, with a strong track record of driving product adoption and community growth.
- Deep technical expertise in software development, API design, and/or relevant technologies, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide actionable guidance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise documentation and deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using developer community platforms (Discord, Slack, GitHub, StackOverflow) and tools for content creation and management (Markdown, Jekyll, Confluence).
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with developers, stakeholders, and team members, and to represent Ironforge's values and mission effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a proactive mindset to identify opportunities for improvement and drive results across multiple channels.
- Experience with community management strategies, including organizing events, moderating discussions, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and brand promotion techniques to effectively communicate Ironforge's value proposition to the developer ecosystem.
