Job Description
This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to expand the Upshot technical community. The primary focus is on increasing the number of developers who actively engage with and build on the Upshot API and related products. This includes overseeing all developer content marketing initiatives, such as creating and managing blog posts, web copy, email campaigns, newsletters, and organizing events, podcasts, and other community engagement activities. The candidate will also manage the end-to-end developer journey, ensuring seamless experiences from initial website interaction to documentation access and tool utilization. Additionally, the role involves creating and maintaining high-quality product demos,utorials, and instructional videos for use in marketing and community outreach. The individual will be tasked with managing and enhancing developer communication channels, including platforms like Slack, Discord, Discourse, Stack Overflow, and Reddit. They will also capture, analyze, and share actionable insights from the developer community with product and engineering teams. Collaboration with marketing and sales departments is essential to effectively launch new services, features, and enhancements through the developer ecosystem. The goal is to diversify and improve the ways in which the Upshot technical community is served, fostering growth and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the Upshot developer community through targeted outreach and engagement initiatives.
- Oversee the creation and management of all developer-facing content marketing materials, including blogs, web copy, email campaigns, newsletters, and event-related content.
- Design and optimize the developer journey, ensuring a smooth and intuitive experience across Upshot's website, documentation, and tools.
- Produce and maintain product demos, tutorials, and instructional videos to support marketing efforts and community education.
- Manage and enhance communication channels such as Slack, Discord, Discourse, Stack Overflow, and Reddit to foster developer interaction and feedback.
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize developer insights to provide actionable recommendations to product and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to plan and execute the launch of new services, features, and enhancements within the developer community.
- Identify innovative methods to diversify community engagement and improve the overall experience for Upshot's technical audience.
- Monitor community metrics and trends to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, product managers, and engineering leads, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in developer relations, content marketing, or community management, preferably within a SaaS or tech company.
- Strong understanding of API ecosystems, developer tools, and technical documentation best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in managing digital communication platforms (Slack, Discord, etc.) and fostering online communities.
- Ability to analyze data and derive insights from developer feedback and engagement metrics.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and sales teams.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and tacticts for B2B or developer-focused products.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with content creation tools (e.g., video editing, blogging platforms) and marketing automation software.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to enhance community engagement and product adoption.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address challenges in developer outreach and community growth.
- Proficiency in English, with additional language skills being a plus for global community engagement.
- Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel) to measure community performance.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of community initiatives while collaborating with teams.
