Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan for the CET team, ensuring alignment with the company's technical vision and objectives.
 - Provide technical leadership to drive innovation and efficiency across the platform development lifecycle, including architecture design and implementation.
 - Coach and mentor direct reports to foster a high-performing team, contributing to the organization's success and supporting their professional growth through personalized development plans.
 - Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate strategic goals into actionable roadmaps, ensuring quarterly deliverables reflect both business needs and technical feasibility.
 - Partner with the talent organization to identify, recruit, and onboard top-tier engineers who align with Coinbase's culture and values, ensuring the team has the expertise to scale platform capabilities.
 - Act as a technical advocate in decision-making processes, ensuring architectural choices are data-driven, scalable, and maintain long-term system integrity.
 - Lead initiatives to enhance team collaboration, promote inclusive communication, and create an environment where all contributors feel valued and empowered.
 - Oversight of engineering quality frameworks and processes to ensure consistent delivery of reliable, secure, and high-performance platform solutions.
 
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a technical leader in platform development, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver scalable systems.
 - Strong background in software engineering, preferably with expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or blockchain technologies.
 - Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate cross-functional alignment.
 - Ability to mentor and develop high-potential engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and career growth within the team.
 - Collaborative mindset to work effectively with product managers, designers, and senior leadership in shaping the product roadmap and technical strategy.
 - Experience in establishing and maintaining engineering processes that ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery of projects.
 - Leadership experience in managing teams of 10+ engineers, with a track record of driving performance and fostering a positive work environment.
 - Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and post-release maintenance.
 - Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities, ensuring platform solutions align with organizational goals and user needs.
 - Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges and improving system efficiency.
