As an Investment Manager focused on Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating high-potential opportunities within the Web3 ecosystem. This position requires a strategic approach to uncover innovative projects, guide them through the investment lifecycle, and facilitate their integration into the BNB Chain platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of investment strategies while maintaining a deep understanding of blockchain technology and its applications. The role is instrumental in driving business growth by transforming emerging projects into industry-leading solutions and addressing evolving market demands with agility and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify promising Web3 projects across sectors such as DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and decentralized applications.
- Perform in-depth analysis of project viability, including technological innovation, market potential, and alignment with BNB Chain's strategic goals.
- Nurture leads through the sales funnel by building relationships with founders, developers, and stakeholders, and guiding them through the onboarding process to BNB Chain.
- Execute holistic valuations of projects using financial modeling, competitive benchmarking, and risk assessment frameworks.
- Support the development of live projects by providing strategic insights, resource coordination, and operational guidance to elevate them to star status.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and technical teams to ensure smooth deal execution and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Monitor portfolio performance post-onboarding, identifying opportunities for optimization and scaling.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics to maintain a competitive edge in investment decisions.
- Develop and present compelling business cases to stakeholders, emphasizing the value proposition of Web3 projects.
- Respond promptly to strategic business needs, providing data-driven recommendations to support growth initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in investment management, preferably within the blockchain or Web3 space, with a focus on business development.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex financial and technical metrics, coupled with the ability to synthesize insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to engage with founders, investors, and partners effectively.
- Deep understanding of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized systems, with hands-on experience in project evaluation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg) and data visualization software to present findings clearly.
- Knowledge of venture capital processes, including due diligence, term sheet negotiation, and post-investment monitoring.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in project execution, market entry, and scalability.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and thrive in ambiguity, with a proactive approach to innovation.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred qualifications: MBA or advanced degree in finance, economics, or a related field; 3+ years of experience in Web3 investment or similar roles.
