PlantGang is a decentralized community of global citizen scientists composed of researchers, educators, and explorers that records the state of nature on the blockchain. The initiative begins with the creation of the first plant specimen museum in the metaverse—a collection of scientifically accurate 3D models of real-world plant specimens as NFTs, which are collected, stored, and accessed in a immutable manner on the blockchain. PlantGang's mission is to usher in a new era of open academic research that is not limited by social or geographical backgrounds, while supporting local communities and environmental habitats through a regenerative economy facilitated by NFT sales and the $PLANT token.
