Taiko is a decentralized, Ethereum-equivalent (Type-1) ZK-VM and a general-purpose ZK-Rollup second-layer network. Its purpose is to enable Ethereum L1 dApp developers and users to deploy and use their applications on Taiko without any need for changes or additional friction, thereby maximizing the inheritance of Ethereum's security while offering faster speeds and lower transaction fees than L1.
