Ethscriptions represent a novel approach to creating and sharing digital artifacts on Ethereum by utilizing transactional call data. This is achieved by bypassing the storage and execution of smart contracts, and instead applying deterministic protocol rules to the “plain” Ethereum call data in order to compute the state.
