Job Description:
The position is for an API Product Manager responsible for institutional API products. The role involves designing and planning API solutions for exchanges, including spot/contract trading APIs (REST/WebSocket), market data APIs (L1/L2/L3), account APIs (funds, sub-accounts, risk control), and order management systems (OMM/OMS). The candidate will deeply understand institutional client needs (quantitative traders, market makers, brokers) and collaborate closely with high-frequency trading teams and market makers to translate their pain points (latency, bandwidth, stability, throughput) into clear product documentation and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive API Low Latency optimization: Improve local matching latency, multi-region deployment (SG, TOKYO, FRA), FIX/SBE/Binary protocol design, and market data push optimizations (diff, snapshot throttling).
- Develop institutional integration tools: VIP Colo/dedicated line solutions, WebSocket SDKs (Python/Node/Java/C++), signature demos, backtesting tools, API documentation, and real-time monitoring/alerts.
- Ensure API stability and SLA design: Manage request rate limits, WebSocket connections, API SLAs, failover/reconnect/replay strategies, market anomaly mechanisms, and release processes.
- Enhance API documentation and developer ecosystem: Maintain high-quality API docs (REST/WS), Developer Portal, organize AMA/Workshop sessions, and promote SDK/Postman/backtesting framework open-source initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of product experience (preferably trading/finance-related): Crypto exchange API, high-frequency trading, market making, derivatives, or cloud/API Gateway experience.
- Strong technical understanding: WebSocket/REST/FIX/SBE/Protobuf, L1/L2/L3 market data, matching logic (limit/IOC/FOK orders), low-latency networking (Colo/dedicated lines), API rate limiting/signing/idempotency.
- Deep knowledge of financial derivatives: Perpetual contracts funding, futures marking/clearing, margin/liq. logic, and risk models.
- Institutional communication skills: Ability to engage directly with HFT engineers, market makers, fund PMs, brokers, and API developers.
- Fluency in English for overseas client communication (Telegram/Email/Calls).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in quant trading firms (HFT/MM/CTA).
- Familiarity with Binance/OKX/Bybit APIs.
- Experience with matching systems or trading/market data gateway code.
- Understanding of network performance (RTT, p99 latency, TCP/Nagle/buffer mechanisms).
- API incident resolution experience.
Benefits:
Attractive compensation package, fully remote work environment, and collaborative team culture. Interested candidates may contact via Telegram @Oran_Gina or email [email protected].
