Job Description
This role requires active participation in strategic decision-making processes and the application of robust risk mitigation frameworks to ensure the successful development of products. The candidate will engage in in-depth technical discussions with cross-functional teams, including product and research organizations, acting as a thought partner and development collaborator. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive product life-cycle counseling, covering both proprietary products and open-source protocols or public goods. The individual will serve as a key connector between internal departments, educating teammates on legal and regulatory challenges to align with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product and research teams to shape technical strategies and address complex development challenges
- Provide end-to-end legal guidance for products throughout their entire life cycle, including pre-launch and post-launch phases
- Act as a bridge between internal organizations and external stakeholders, ensuring regulatory alignment across all operations
- Develop and implement internal compliance policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
- Oversee regulatory filings, licensing processes, and permit management for all product initiatives
- Ensure adherence to evolving legal standards, industry regulations, and jurisdiction-specific compliance requirements
- Provide strategic leadership on emerging cryptocurrency and blockchain-related legal issues
- Conduct thorough legal research to monitor regulatory changes and industry developments
- Coordinate with external legal counsel to address complex compliance matters and contractual obligations
- Review, draft, and negotiate legal documents including NDAs, IP agreements, and partnership contracts
- Identify and mitigate legal risks across product development, deployment, and maintenance cycles
- Develop educational materials to enhance team understanding of regulatory landscapes and compliance best practices
- Support cross-functional teams in navigating legal complexities while maintaining project timelines and quality standards
- Monitor and analyze legal trends to anticipate potential regulatory impacts on product roadmap and business strategy
- Ensure all product activities comply with international regulations and local legal frameworks
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in legal compliance for technology products, preferably in blockchain or cryptocurrency space
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks governing digital assets, smart contracts, and decentralized systems
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to assess complex legal risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Strong collaboration abilities to work effectively with product, research, and external legal teams
- Ability to translate legal requirements into actionable guidance for product development teams
- Experience with regulatory filings and compliance documentation for emerging technologies
