Job Description
This role involves managing the content creation and promotion of podcasts, working closely with various teams to ensure high-quality output and audience engagement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end podcast production, from sourcing and scheduling guests to post-production editing and marketing strategies. You will also contribute to the strategic growth of the podcast network by identifying new opportunities, collaborating with creative teams, and analyzing audience data to optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and schedule guests, staying up-to-date on industry news and trends to identify untapped potential for exceptional stories.
- Plan and research episodes, creating deep-dive briefings and questions for podcast hosts before recordings.
- Craft content post-production using tools like Descript to refine our content and ensure it meets our quality standards. You’ll listen to A LOT of podcasts to maintain a competitive edge.
- Work with editors and designers to produce engaging content that aligns with brand voice and audience expectations.
- Write descriptions, timestamps, and titles for podcast episodes to enhance viewer engagement and drive downloads.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote podcasts through social media channels like Twitter and other platforms, including email campaigns and influencer partnerships.
- Track analytics across the network to bolster growth and audience retention by identifying trends and optimizing content strategies.
- Manage podcast sponsors, lead sponsor kickoff calls, write sponsor copy, and develop sponsor reports to maintain strong partnerships.
- Lead the creative development and launch of new Blockworks podcasts, including conceptualizing topics, coordinating with hosts, and ensuring consistent quality across the network.
- Support conference content creation for live panels and events, including researching topics, preparing materials, and coordinating with speakers and production teams.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in podcast production or content creation, with a strong understanding of audio editing tools like Descript.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with hosts, editors, designers, and marketing teams.
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform content decisions and improve audience engagement.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of social media marketing strategies and platforms to promote podcasts effectively.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality content and accurate metadata for episodes.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to both existing and new podcast initiatives.
- Passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of industry trends to identify compelling topics.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining open communication with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with sponsor management and partnership development is a plus.
