Job Description
Chaos Labs is seeking a dedicated professional to collaborate with leading DeFi projects and enhance risk modeling practices. The role involves participating in the design and implementation of technical specifications for simulation and statistical frameworks. You will lead research into financial modeling techniques to identify and apply the most suitable strategies for our products and customers. Additionally, you will assist in developing and maintaining systems that calculate risk metrics for partner protocols. The position requires diligent architecture and management of the codebase, ensuring seamless collaboration with other teams to optimize scalability and leverage across the organization. You will also be responsible for identifying, measuring, and managing market risks for Chaos and its customers. Engaging with customers and strategic partners is a key aspect, providing risk expertise to support product efforts and ensure their success. In times of crisis, such as when a protocol faces an attack or a vulnerability is detected, you will assist in reaction and recovery efforts to safeguard client user funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with leading DeFi projects to understand and improve risk modeling practices.
- Participate in the technical specification design and implementation of simulation and statistical frameworks.
- Lead the research of financial modeling techniques to select the most applicable strategies for Chaos Labs’ products and customers.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of systems to calculate risk metrics for partner protocols.
- Diligently architect and manage the evolution of the code base, including collaborating with other teams to maximize scale and leverage across the organization.
- Identify, measure, and manage market risks across Chaos and its customers.
- Engage with customers and strategic partners in support of product efforts, providing risk expertise to ensure their success.
- Respond to crises (e.g., protocol attacks or vulnerabilities) by supporting reaction/recovery efforts to protect client user funds.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in financial modeling, risk analysis, and DeFi ecosystem operations.
- Strong technical skills in designing and implementing simulation frameworks, statistical models, and data-driven systems.
- Advanced knowledge of blockchain technologies, smart contract security, and protocol-level risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to lead research initiatives and translate findings into actionable strategies for product development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and system maintenance.
- Experience in crisis management and incident response within the crypto industry, with a focus on user fund protection.
- Strong analytical mindset to evaluate complex market dynamics and develop robust risk mitigation solutions.
- Preferred: 3+ years in quantitative risk analysis, familiarity with decentralized finance protocols, and a track record of delivering scalable systems.
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, computer science, or a related field, with advanced certifications in risk management or blockchain technology.
