Contango is a type of DEX (Decentralized Exchange) that provides DeFi traders with futures that have a maturity date, without the need for an order book or a liquidity pool. When traders open a position, the protocol borrows funds in the fixed-rate market, executes a swap transaction in the spot market, and then lends the funds back in the fixed-rate market. Contango offers physical delivery for large transactions and minimal price fluctuations.
